WE ARE STARTING A MAGAZINE - ARE YOU SAM?

We're in the process of launching a new webzine, and setting out policy for advertisers. Already, two or three potential advertisers have approached us with ideas for editorial content.

In my print magazine days, advertorials were easy to set out from main editorial content: the fonts and layout were slightly different, and you placed the word Advertisement (or Advertiser Sponsored Content, or something like) at the top of the page and everyone understood what it was.

Any suggestions for dealing with advertiser-supplied content in an on-line publication?

Many thanks!

Did a quick Google search for "Webzine Advertorial" and found a few hits (one of which was this very post, LOL). One of the links I clicked on displayed a webzine in magazine format with the "flip pages" style. If your Webzine is like this, then you should be able to set up advertorial content the same way - slightly different font with "Advertisement" at the top or something.

If your Webzine is in some other format you should still be able to do something similar. A different font, a .jpg that says "Advertisement" or something like that. Maybe set it off the way you set off comments or quotes. Blogs, for example, tend to have the replies in a smaller, italic font. Maybe a different color banner at the top and bottom?
