Free Magazines

Hello to all the magazines who offer their publications for free on newsstands, etc! I've noticed that many of the free publications also offer paid subscriptions (for the same magazine, but simply delivered to customer's door). Can someone give me some figures on the ratio of subscribers to free distributions?

I'm considering increasing circulation with a free distribution program at select establishments in a 5 state region and want to know if it's generally advisable.
