Many people are looking for new ways to monetize their digital magazine initiatives. One simple method is to secure a digital edition sponsor. If you can get each issue sponsored and have a few other advertisers pay for creative and multimedia ad enhancements, your on your way to a profitable digital edition program. Let's not forget that there are many other factors to consider in terms of digital magazine strategy, but this is an ROI foundation element.

For certain magazines, the ideas of turning the digital magazine into a web banner box just doesn't work, even if there is a small ROI on selling banner ads around the digital edition. In my opinion, I'd prefer to see publishers optimize the unique value of the digital edition and keep quality ads and enhanced multimedia ads in the digital and mobile editions.
