What to do for subscribers when exiting publishing
I have print subscribers for the next 4 issues but do not want to accumulate the debt that would be inevitable if we went to print. We also do a PDF version that is the EXACT same content in electronic format. The difference in subscription price is $1/year so the per issue difference is 25 cents.
If we offered the PDF to the print subscribers would that be considered comparable product? The content is totally computer related and no one without a computer would ever subscribe to this magazine. We would send the PDF on CD to those with dial-up connections.
Any opinions?

What the hell are you talking about???!!! Package your delicious magazine, subscribers, audience, advertisers, contacts, ideas, market research, marketing plans (2,5,10 years), well thought-out exit strategies(they may leave at some point too), and any shred of "goodwill" that you have developed over the last year......AND SELL IT TO THEM!!!!!
Who are these big fish? Give me the exact company names and I will post detailed information about every buyer at those companies who would be greatly interested in buying your hard work and development over the last year.
ps.....if they want the same buying audience as your magazine and can buy it from you for......eg.....$50 a customer......vs. paying $150 to get a new subscriber on their own.....is looking to purchase a good idea? Absolutely! It gets you out of the business and saves them lots of money!
