Just want to introduce myself further and give anyone my tips about SAM. Around June 2008, I printed my first ever magazine. It was not a large scale operation by any means - I made less than 100 copies. However, I used my blog to send it all over the world. I think you are 'done' starting a magazine when you have already printed it. 5 issues for bi-annual magazine looks to me like you have already entered the realm!

I love magazines. I made my first magazine in 2008. It was called Kerosene. So far only one issue and probably only one issue to be had but it made me fall in love with publishing.

I used to comment on this forum back when it looked like a message board but it was always dead so I packed up and left. I'm back now though!

You make a good point about segmentation which I will keep in mind and hopefully international versions of my magazine will be possible in the future. When you say niche magazines vs. general content magazines, you're referring to a black mens' finance or fashion magazine as opposed to a black mens' version of Esquire or Essence?
